For the Dutch art space CBK Zuidoost Mapping Worlds designed a new kind of city map. The map displays each separate residence instead of just blocks, providing an image of population density. Each residence with at least one new resident in 2006 is highlighted by a small bearing. All streets have a tag with the number of residences and the number of people settling or leaving in 2006.
The Center for Global Development issued its Commitment to Development Index 2007. The renowned CDI ranks 21 of the world's richest countries according to
their policies on indicators like aid, trade, migration and security.
Like for the two previous editions, Mapping Worlds provided a map animation to visualize the scores on all indicators. Take a look at the
CDI-website to see the countries resize...

In the General Assembly all countries have an equal vote. In the rings of both flags, all 191 countries have exactly the same surface area. The archipelagos with small islands are represented by a circle as large as the other countries, embracing the archipelago.
The countries are positioned alphabetically, with Afghanistan at 12 o'clock in the smallest ring, followed clockwise by the other countries. Burundi starts the second ring at twelve o'clock, Guatemala the third and Nigeria the largest ring, finishing with Zimbabwe.
The UN Security Council has five permanent seats, each of the countries holding a veto right. In the flag on the left, these five countries (USA, United Kingdom, France, Russian Federation and China) are represented at the center of the circle, in a larger size.
Both maps are available in various languages (in PDF-format). We include any other language if called for. If you are interested in publishing one of these editions, please contact us.
